After only one run in their last contest, Lynchburg-Clay made sure to put some runs up on the board against Vinton County on Wednesday. The Mustangs blew past the Vikings 19-1. That looming 19-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Cole Wells made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Lynchburg-Clay got a massive performance out of Elam Faust, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Christian Flowers, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
