Recap: Point Pleasant Big Blacks vs. Fort Frye Cadets
The Point Pleasant Big Blacks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Fort Frye, falling 66-35. Point Pleasant was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fort Frye apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 12th.
When it comes to explaining why Point Pleasant lost, one person who can't be blamed is Grant Barton. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with three steals. Grayson Tucker was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Point Pleasant's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Fort Frye, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Point Pleasant will be playing at home against Marietta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marietta presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Point Pleasant in their respective states (Marietta is ranked 96th in Ohio, while Point Pleasant is ranked 544th in West Virginia). As for Fort Frye, they will head out on the road to square off against Warren at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
