Volleyball Recap: Sanvir Bandesha and George Jimenez Secure Win for Plainfield South

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Friday. Plainfield South sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Vernon Hills. This was payback for Plainfield South, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Plainfield South who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 24-26, 15-13.

Leading Plainfield South to victory were George Jimenez and Sanvir Bandesha. Jimenez had 20 digs, while Bandesha had 14 assists. Those 14 assists gave Bandesha a new career-high.

Plainfield South's win bumped their record up to 20-12. As for Vernon Hills, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-25.

Coming up, Plainfield South will face off against Minooka at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vernon Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Niles West at 6:00 p.m.
