Softball Recap: New Riegel Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

It's playoff time, and New Riegel had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Hardin Northern Polar Bears 11-1 on Friday. Considering the Blue Jackets have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

New Riegel's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hardin Northern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-7 record this season.

New Riegel will face off against Mohawk at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Jackets 2.2, the Warriors 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Hardin Northern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
