Great Bend waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Newton Railroaders. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The win didn't come easy: Newton scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19.

Great Bend's offense was headlined by Stevie Mayers and Mikala Minton, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Kya Behr and her 23 assists.

Great Bend's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Newton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

Great Bend didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against West on the 4th. As for Newton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Hutchinson on the 4th.
