Soccer Game Preview: Sevier County vs. Hardin Valley Academy

The Sevier County Smoky Bears are taking a road trip to take on the Hardin Valley Academy Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Sevier County is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Jefferson County just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 4-3. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Sevier County came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Jefferson County are ranked 90th).

Bearden typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Hardin Valley Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bulldogs 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for Hardin Valley Academy.

Hardin Valley Academy's win bumped their record up to 15-3-3. As for Sevier County, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-3-2.
