Softball Recap: Vintage Takes Down Berkeley in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Vintage had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Berkeley Yellowjackets. The Crushers haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Desiree Griffith, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Samantha Kennedy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Vintage's win bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Berkeley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-7.

Coming up, Vintage will venture away from home to take on Northgate at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crushers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. Berkeley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
