Basketball Recap: Kentlake Takes a Loss

Kentlake played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 59-38 to the Decatur Golden Gators. The Falcons have struggled against the Golden Gators recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Decatur's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeralynn Sevaaetasi led the charge by going 5 of 11 on her way to 19 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Sevaaetasi a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (60%). Another player making a difference was Jayda Thomas, who went 10 for 21 en route to 25 points.

Kentlake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Decatur, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.

Kentlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Decatur, they will head out on the road to square off against Bellarmine Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
