Softball Recap: Midway/Minto Takes a Loss

Midway/Minto extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 2-5. They lost 20-14 to the Grafton Spoilers. The Monarchs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spoilers earlier this season, when they won 16-13.

Sadie Armbrust made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Cronquist, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

Grafton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

On Grafton's side, the team relied heavily on Jaylesn Anderson, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those runs marked the first that Anderson has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Miranda Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Midway/Minto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Grafton has already played their next contest (against Northern Lights), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
