Softball Recap: Tyler Beats Valley for Their Third Straight Win

While Tyler's win against Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights skirted past the Lumberjacks 8-6. The victory was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.

Tyler let Izzie Murray and Leah Carroll run wild. Murray went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Carroll went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave Carroll a new career-high in RBI (two). Holly Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tyler kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Tyler's win bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tyler will host Cameron at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Valley, they will square off against Calhoun at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
