Chapman came out on top against Gaffney on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Panthers walked away with an 8-4 win over the Indians. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Indians on April 2nd, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.
Alexis Floyd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Krisylyn Wilder was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Kenslie Edwards was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
The victory made it two in a row for Chapman and bumps their season record up to 10-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Gaffney, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10.
Chapman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gaffney, they will take on Eastside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
