Baseball Recap: Converse Takes a Loss

If Converse was riding high fresh off their 17-1 takedown of Pleasant Hill on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 14-0 to the Parkway Panthers on Monday.

Converse saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mavrick Mitchell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Converse has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for Parkway, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-16.

Coming up, Converse will host Florien at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blackcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.35 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Parkway, they will head out on the road to challenge Airline at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
