Volleyball Game Preview: Xavier Falcons vs. Cheshire Rams

Xavier hasn't had much luck against Cheshire recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Xavier is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: New Britain, who was ranked 12th at the time (Xavier was ranked 25th). The Falcons walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Golden Hurricanes on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 15-25, 25-14, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Cheshire earned a 3-1 win over Glastonbury on Thursday.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21, 26-28, 25-15.

Xavier's record now sits at 8-10. As for Cheshire, their record is now 13-7.

Xavier couldn't quite get it done against Cheshire in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 3-1. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
