Football Recap: Dylan Schorpp Key Part of Team Effort in Storm Win

There's no place like home for St. Luke, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Everything went their way against the Morristown-Beard Crimson on Saturday as they made off with a 28-7 victory. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 108th in Connecticut, while the Crimson are ranked 273rd in New Jersey) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Luke's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan Schorpp, who threw for 189 yards and four touchdowns. Those four passing touchdowns gave Schorpp a new career-high. St. Luke's leading receiver Luke Carryl was Schorpp's top target yet again, picking up 82 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

St. Luke's didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carryl and Billy Galvin.

The win got St. Luke's back to even at 2-2. As for Morristown-Beard, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

St. Luke's has already played their next matchup, a 42-21 loss against Kingswood Oxford on the 11th. As for Morristown-Beard, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 47-12 victory against King on the 11th.
