Preview: Walkertown Wolfpack vs. Lexington Yellowjackets
The Walkertown Wolfpack will be playing at home against the Lexington Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Walkertown and three for Lexington.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-5, which was the final score in Walkertown's tilt against Eastern Guilford on Friday. While losing is never fun, Walkertown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 576th, while Eastern Guilford is ranked 262nd).
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Lexington, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-43 loss to Central Davidson on Friday. Lexington has not had much luck with Central Davidson recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Lily Ervin put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Dearmon, who scored 8 points.
East Surry's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Walkertown's defeat dropped theirs to 0-5.
Walkertown came up short against Lexington in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, falling 55-51. Can Walkertown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
