            Softball Recap: Germantown Mavericks vs. Starkville Yellowjackets        
        
		
        
        
            Germantown never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with  a   3-0  victory over the Starkville Yellowjackets. That's two games straight that the Mavericks have won by  exactly three  runs.

 Presley Cutrer tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those  seven  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Julia Glasgow, who  went 2-for-3 with one  triple and one  run. That  triple was  her first of the season.  Maddie Self was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Germantown  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in five consecutive  games.
Germantown has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record  this season. As for Starkville, their defeat was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 7-16.
 Looking ahead, Germantown will challenge Madison Central at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Mavericks are facing the Jaguars at the right time seeing as the Jaguars are stuck on  a  four-game losing streak. As for Starkville, they will take on Northeast Lauderdale at 2:30  p.m.  on Saturday. The Yellowjackets will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last three contests.
