Harker Heights' hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Midway hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Midway's pitchers stepped up to hand Copperas Cove a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Harker Heights gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a run and slipped past Temple 3-2.

Janelly Rios spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Je'Neiya Russell-Dukes, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Warriner, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Harker Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Temple only posted a batting average of .083.

Midway pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Harker Heights, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.

Midway took their victory against Harker Heights in their previous matchup on March 4th by a conclusive 12-0. Will Midway repeat their success, or does Harker Heights has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
