Basketball Recap: Kiera Isaacson and Aubrey Karppinen Secure Win for Dollar Bay

Dollar Bay won the last time they faced Johnston and things went their way on Thursday too. The Dollar Bay Bays strolled past the Johnston Speedboys with points to spare, taking the game 45-26. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bays.

Dollar Bay was led to victory by Aubrey Karppinen and Kiera Isaacson. Karppinen posted eight points along with six boards and six steals, while Isaacson scored five points in addition to nine rebounds and six steals. Karppinen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Bell, who had ten points and three steals.

Dollar Bay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Dollar Bay has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Johnston, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Dollar Bay will take on Ewen-Trout Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johnston, they will welcome Jeffers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
