Recap: Trenton Tigers vs. Williston Red Devils

There's no place like home for the Trenton Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-46 win over Williston on Thursday. Given Trenton's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Williston is ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trenton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Koi Perry out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 rebounds and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Perry pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nyima Gillyard, who scored 14 points.

Trenton pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Williston, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Trenton will head out on the road to face off against Hope Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Williston, they will be playing at home against Union County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
