Recap: Holy Cross Knights vs. Bishop Loughlin Lions

The Holy Cross Knights had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 51-41 victory over Bishop Loughlin on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Holy Cross, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Holy Cross' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mona Okorie led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. Okorie is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nafi Balde, who scored seven points along with 19 rebounds and two blocks.

Holy Cross' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8. As for Bishop Loughlin, they bumped their record down to 4-7 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will take on St. Francis Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Loughlin will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Monsignor McClancy at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st.
