Softball Recap: Cedarcrest Wins Going Away Against Interlake

Interlake typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Cedarcrest proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 11-3 victory. The Red Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.

Ryann Bottemiller was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Bottemiller was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kyle Watson was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddie Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Cedarcrest has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Interlake, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.

Coming up, Cedarcrest will welcome Highline at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Red Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Interlake, they will venture away from home to challenge Sammamish at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
