Softball Recap: Willow Canyon Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Willow Canyon can now relate to. They fell just short of the Canyon del Oro Dorados by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since April 10th.

Willow Canyon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Jones, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Willow Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 21-11-1. As for Canyon del Oro, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 32-3.

Willow Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canyon del Oro, they will face off against Desert Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dorados 1.1, the Wolves 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
