Softball Game Preview: Hillsboro Spartans vs. Canby Cougars

For the second straight game, Hillsboro will face off against Canby. The Spartans will welcome the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Hillsboro will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Canby, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Spartans skirted past the Cougars 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted since April 26, 2024.

For Canby's part, Lauren Toma was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Abigail Troutman, who went 2-for-4 with one triple.

Canby now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Hillsboro, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.
