Football Recap: San Antonio Memorial Takes a Loss

San Antonio Memorial had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-9 to make it four. They had to suffer through a 55-14 loss at the hands of the Devine Warhorses / Arabians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Minutemen of the 48-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, San Antonio Memorial still got an impressive performance from Jonathan Osorto Victela, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns.

As for Devine, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Devine's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was KARTER BROWN, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries. BROWN also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Warhorses / Arabians are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was MARIO VICENTE, who rushed for 66 yards and one score.

San Antonio Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Devine, they will venture away from home to take on Jarrell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warhorses / Arabians will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
