While Mount Dora's victory against Tavares wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hurricanes narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bulldogs 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hurricanes also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Mount Dora got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 18-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-9.

Mount Dora's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyleigh Brown, who had 11 digs and one assist.

The win got Mount Dora back to even at 1-1. As for Tavares, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Dora will challenge Lake Minneola at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tavares, they will host East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
