Volleyball Recap: Reedley's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Reedley walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Pioneer Valley Panthers on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won three matchups in a row.

While Reedley won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 25-20.

Jared Bonds paced Reedley's offense, picking up 19 kills. Bonds got some help from Adrian Vargas and his 33 assists. Finally, Angel Zamarripa kept Reedley's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Despite the loss, Pioneer Valley still got an impressive performance from Yahir Lopez, who had 11 digs. Lopez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Reedley's victory bumped their record up to 23-13. As for Pioneer Valley, with the defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-17.

After both having extra time off, Reedley and Nipomo will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th. Pioneer Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
