Baseball Recap: East Ascension's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

East Ascension waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over the Riverside Academy Rebels. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ethan Blanchard looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Moran was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Caden Gautreaux, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

East Ascension pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs over those games. As for Riverside Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.

Coming up, East Ascension will be taking part in a tournament against Destrehan at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverside Academy, they will take on Thibodaux at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
