Basketball Recap: Lydia Wynja Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat St. Francis Christian

First Baptist won the last time they faced St. Francis Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The First Baptist Crusaders managed a 39-33 win over the St. Francis Christian Patriots.

First Baptist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lydia Wynja led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. Wynja has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 19 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Wynja, who posted six points in addition to nine boards and five steals.

First Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 13 consecutive contests.

First Baptist's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

First Baptist will venture away from home to square off against Woodcrest Baptist Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. St. Francis Christian has already played their next match (against Prior Lake Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
