Recap: University Cougars vs. Colonial Grenadiers
The University Cougars fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Colonial Grenadiers on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Grenadiers by a score of 80-77. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (70), University still had to take the loss.
University's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hudson Maurer, who scored 22 points along with 5 rebounds. The game was Maurer's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Levi Hubbard, who scored 19 points.
University's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Colonial, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Titusville at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Titusville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. As for Colonial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Mary will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Colonial is ranked 61st).
