Softball Game Preview: Jasper Pirates vs. Hector Wildcats

Jasper hasn't had much luck against Hector recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pirates will take on the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Jasper knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Hector likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Jasper got the win against Lead Hill by a conclusive 22-3. The Pirates have beaten the Tigers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Hector unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Hackett, falling 12-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Hector's defeat dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Jasper, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Jasper might still be hurting after the 24-3 loss they got from Hector in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
