Recap: Madison Mohawks vs. Preble Shawnee Arrows
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Waynesville, the Madison Mohawks were happy to have found some success on Monday. They walked away with a 36-29 win over Preble Shawnee. Given Madison's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while Preble Shawnee is ranked 673rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Preble Shawnee's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ashleigh Mondello-garrett, who scored nine points along with eight steals and five rebounds, and Aubrey Unger who scored eight points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Mondello-garrett has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.
Madison's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Preble Shawnee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will take on Arcanum at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Preble Shawnee, they will be playing at home against Twin Valley South at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Twin Valley South is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
