Evadale took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Deweyville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rebels sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Pirates on Saturday. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Allie Seals made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Madison Riedinger was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brynlee Theeck, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Evadale's record now sits at 8-14. As for Deweyville, they dropped their record down to 7-15-1 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Evadale will face off against Burton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight. Deweyville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
