Volleyball Recap: Gibsonburg Golden Bears vs. St. Joseph Central Catholic Crimson Streaks
Gibsonburg lost against St. Joseph Central Catholic back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Golden Bears took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crimson Streaks.
The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 19-25, 25-17.
Leah Hall paced Gibsonburg's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hall got some help from Katie Hall and her 19 assists. Riley Gressman and Lacey Castillo kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.
Leading St. Joseph Central Catholic to victory were Amaree Haralson and Bella Stout. Haralson hit 66.7% for 13 kills and nine digs, two aces, and one block, while Stout had seven digs and three assists. Haralson is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season.
Gibsonburg's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for St. Joseph Central Catholic, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Coming up, after both having extra time off, Gibsonburg and Margaretta will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Bears are facing the Polar Bears at the right time seeing as the Polar Bears are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
