Softball Recap: West Stokes Comes Up Short

West Stokes has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.07 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the High Point Christian Academy Cougars. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

West Stokes' defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for High Point Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

West Stokes and High Point Christian Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Wildcats will face off against T.W. Andrews at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (33 vs. 386). Meanwhile, High Point Christian Academy (ranked sixth) will meet Wesleyan Christian Academy (ranked 175th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Cougars have won 17 straight at home dating back to last season, while the Trojans won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
