Softball Recap: Highland Tech's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Highland Tech barely beat Pinnacle Classical Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams blew past the Eagles 13-1 on Friday. Considering the Rams have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jaelynn Motley made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Motley was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Meredith Bolick, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Makaylee Gantt was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Highland Tech, bringing their record up to 8-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Highland Tech wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-2 defeat against Cherryville on the 1st. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-5 victory against Christian Family Academy on the 1st.
