DeMatha is ranked highly in their home state and on Sunday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Bishop Ireton. The DeMatha Stags strolled past the Bishop Ireton Cardinals with points to spare, taking the game 74-58. The victory was familiar territory for the Stags who have now won six contests in a row.

DeMatha got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashton (Ace) Meeks out in front who went 5 for 9 on his way to 18 points. Cole Bowser was another key player, putting up nine points along with five boards and five steals.

DeMatha's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Bishop Ireton, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DeMatha will head out to square off against St. John's at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Ireton, they will venture away from home to face off against Bethel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
