Volleyball Recap: Randolph Cardinals vs. Wynot Blue Devils
Randolph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wynot Blue Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Wynot scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17.
Randolph's offense was headlined by Mabel Ngebeh and Abbey Backer, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Ella Graf and her five assists. Delayne Thelen controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Wynot had a senior duo take command as Jaylin Geisen had five aces and four digs and Kenna Oligmueller had nine kills. Oligmueller is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 32 games she's played dating back to last season.
Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Wynot, they pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Coming up, Randolph will venture away from home to take on Boyd County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wynot, they will host Wausa at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
