It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Seminole had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Ysleta 7-6. The win was nothing new for Seminole as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Obed Reyes and Rowin Donaldson made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Reyes tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Donaldson pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. At bat, Reyes got on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Donaldson got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Donaldson has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Oscar Grijalva was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Ray, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Seminole's record is now 25-7. As for Ysleta, the loss snapped their winning streak at 15 games and leaves them with a 18-14 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Seminole beat Ysleta by a score of 9-1 on Saturday.
