Soccer Game Preview: Lamar vs. Wisdom

The Lamar Texans will square off against the Wisdom Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lamar's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last seven contests.

Wisdom better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Lamar really get things going. Lamar never let Westside onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Friday. Give the Texans' defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

They hit Westside with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Maddie Meisenbach (2), Delaney Perry, and Blanca Guillen.

Meanwhile, Wisdom managed to keep up with Westside until halftime last Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Wisdom came up short against Westside, falling 4-0. The result was nothing new for the Generals as the squad has yet to pick up a win this season.

Lamar's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those seven matchups. As for Wisdom, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Lamar took their victory against Wisdom in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 12-0. Does Lamar have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wisdom turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
