League recap: Warner extends winning streak with victory over Faulkton

Lake Region (9 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012

Warner extended the longest winning streak in Lake Region (9 Man) this week by beating Faulkton, 46-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Monarchs.

Warner took down the Trojans 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Ipswich/Edmunds Central's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lane Myer threw for 143 and two touchdowns and Phil Beck had 65 yards receiving. On the ground Alex Marsh chipped in 109 yards. Lane Peterson helped Ipswich/Edmunds Central's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.

The Tigers' Myer and Brayden Thares have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Myer has thrown for 727 yards this season, while Thares, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 14 catches for 340 yards. Darin Wieseler from Faulkton leads the league in rushing with 690 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Tom Kulesa's team takes on Langford. The Monarchs are in first place, while the Lions are in third place.

Warner led Lake Region (9 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 46 points on Shayne Geditz's team.
