Softball Recap: Waskom Gets the Win

After only one run in their last matchup, Waskom made sure to put some runs up on the board against Chapel Hill on Friday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 13-9.

Avery Woodley was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Maci Barbo, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Waskom was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Waskom has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Chapel Hill, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Waskom didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-0 defeat against Hughes Springs on the 20th. As for Chapel Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 17-0 loss against Elkhart on the 21st.
