Basketball Game Preview: Crestwood Red Devils vs. Cloverleaf Colts

Crestwood hasn't had much luck against Cloverleaf recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Crestwood Red Devils will welcome the Cloverleaf Colts at 7:00 p.m. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Hannah Ward and Evie Barth.

Crestwood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They breezed past West Geauga to the tune of 71-43. The Red Devils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cloverleaf, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 52-51 win over Ursuline.

Cloverleaf's win came from a few key players Crestwood will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emma Hibler, who went 5-for-12 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Barth, who posted 12 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Cloverleaf's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Crestwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Crestwood suffered a grim 54-33 defeat to Cloverleaf in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Barth, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.
