The Princeton Panthers will face off against the Allen Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,159 yards in their previous games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Princeton faced off against McKinney on Friday. The Panthers walked away with a 30-21 win over the Lions.
Princeton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Marcus Flowers out in front who threw for 325 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 77.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 65 yards and one TD. Jordan Mosley was another key pass catcher, gaining 247 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Allen put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat McKinney 62-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked second, while the Lions are ranked 160th).
Allen's win came from a few key players Princeton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ty Snell, who threw for 305 yards and one TD on only 13 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Daoud, who threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes.
Allen's run defense was locked in: McKinney could only muster 0.2 yards per carry. The Eagles' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.5.
Princeton's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Allen, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Princeton has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 328.7 passing yards per game. Allen, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 158.8 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Princeton took a serious blow against Allen in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 78-21. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 48-7.
