Baseball Recap: Hanover Central Comes Up Short

Hanover Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Montini Catholic Broncos.

Hanover Central got a good showing from Matt Cook, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cook has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Hanover Central's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Montini Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-14.

Looking ahead, Hanover Central will square off against Lincoln-Way Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Montini Catholic, they will face off against St. Patrick at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
