Football Recap: Bunker Hill Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Bunker Hill had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-9 to make it six. They were outmatched by the West Iredell Warriors and fell 70-24. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Jaylen Gonzalez threw for 243 yards and three TDs. Tae Gaither was his top target, picking up 146 receiving yards and a pair of scores. On the ground, Kamon Jones rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown.

As for West Iredell, they moved to 5-5 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. Considering they have won four contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

West Iredell found their leader in sophomore Ex-Avier Peet, who picked up three sacks and made three total tackles in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Trae Clyburn was in the mix too, providing the Warriors with one score.

Bunker Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Iredell, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Ashe County at 7:00 p.m. The Warriors will be up against the Huskies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.67 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
