Recap: West Orange Mountaineers vs. Columbia Cougars
The West Orange Mountaineers posted their biggest victory since January 3rd on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 59-24 win over Columbia at home. With West Orange ahead 40-9 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Anaya Karriem continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 12 points along with six blocks and five rebounds. Karriem is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Zoe Francis-Bunkley, who scored six points along with six steals.
West Orange is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Columbia, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
West Orange will head out on the road to face off against Hudson Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing isn't great for Hudson Catholic: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while West Orange has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Columbia will take on Oak Knoll at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
