Basketball Game Preview: Flint River Academy Wildcats vs. Lafayette Christian Cougars

The Flint River Academy Wildcats and the Lafayette Christian Cougars will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Lafayette Christian took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Flint River Academy, who comes in off a win.

Flint River Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They took down Oak Mountain Academy 47-32.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Flint River Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamir Muhammad, who posted 19 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cole Riner, who had 14 points.

Flint River Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 29 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Lafayette Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost to Skipstone Academy at home by a 66-47 margin.

Lafayette Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Flint River Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Flint River Academy took their victory against Lafayette Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 60-37. Will Flint River Academy repeat their success, or does Lafayette Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
