Basketball Recap: Hockinson Takes a Loss

Hockinson lost against Columbia River back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hockinson Hawks had to suffer through a 90-57 loss at the hands of the Columbia River Rapids. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Rapids are ranked 46th).

Hockinson has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Columbia River, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Hockinson will head out on the road to take on WF West at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Columbia River, they will take on Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Columbia River's favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Woodland has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
