Basketball Recap: Fike Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fike can now relate to. They had to suffer through an 87-57 loss at the hands of the Southern Lee Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Demons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 73rd).

Fike has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season. Southern Lee's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-3.

Fike does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southern Lee, they will challenge Swansboro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Swansboro's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
