Basketball Game Preview: Wright Christian Wildcats vs. Riverfield Country Day Ravens

Wright Christian hasn't had much luck against Riverfield Country Day recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m.

Wright Christian is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Mingo Valley Christian last Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wildcats lost 52-29 to the Eagles. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-7.

Meanwhile, Riverfield Country Day strolled into their game last Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They enjoyed a cozy 57-39 victory over Wesleyan Christian.

Wright Christian better keep an eye on Scott Thompson. He was instrumental in Riverfield Country Day's win, shooting 89% from the field to rack up 23 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Those 23 points gave Thompson a new career-high. Stone Loosvelt was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Wright Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Riverfield Country Day, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Wright Christian was taken down by Riverfield Country Day 58-17 in their previous matchup on November 11th. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wildcats were down 39-5.
